The number of people joining the ranks of the Aam Aadmi party seem to be swelling with every passing day.
The latest to join is Sanju Verma, who started Violet Arch Securities after taking over Alchemy Share & Stock Brokers in which Rakesh Jhunjhunwala had a stake.
“This has been weighing on my mind for some time…We all crave for change but it is not often that one gets the opportunity to do something about it,” she said.
She also hopes to contest the elections from the city for a Lok Sabha seat. Verma has offered to contest from Mumbai South and the Mumbai North Central constituencies, she told Business Standard.
The Aam Aadmi Party has invited applications from people who wish to contest the Lok Sabha elections. Individuals can nominate themselves for the same through an application form available on the party website. It is expected to release a shortlist of candidates shortly.
Verma was directly involved in the takeover of Alchemy Share & Stock in 2011, which later became Violet Arch.
Previously, she has worked as executive director and head of institutional business at HDFC Securities and has also had stints at J P Morgan (erstwhile Jardine Fleming ) and MF Global (erstwhile Refco-Sify Securities), according to the brokerage’s website
